How to fit it into your stay
One of Casa Millo’s aims is for the value of each stay to reach local bars, restaurants and shops as well.
For a relaxed stay, we recommend combining one main visit in the morning, time for lunch and a second stop in the afternoon. Casa Millo lets you return to central Celanova without changing accommodation and keep another day for exploring the wider area.
Living the town
For us, the stay does not end at the accommodation door. Part of the value of being in the centre is being able to shop, eat, have a drink and use local businesses on foot. That connection with everyday life is what makes staying in Celanova different from simply passing through.
Casa Millo’s recommendations are therefore personal and practical. We prefer a smaller number of places with character and a reason to go, rather than a long anonymous list.

A very personal recommendation. Moncho and María, together with the bar itself, have the kind of warmth and authenticity that makes people want to return. It is a good place for local atmosphere and genuinely friendly service.
CasAberta
A distinctive place with a strong identity and an atmosphere that stays with you. We like recommending it when guests want somewhere with character and something different from a conventional restaurant.
Sabores
A good choice for a slightly more special lunch or dinner without leaving Celanova. The setting is more polished and the overall experience still feels accessible rather than formal.
Bar Galo
Our neighbours keep a historic bar alive right on Praza do Millo. It is only a few steps from Casa Millo and part of the everyday life of the old town that we want visitors to experience.
O Forno do Lito
A reliable option for a full meal in Celanova. It is one of those names that comes up repeatedly when locals are asked where to eat well without overcomplicating the plan.
O Muiño do Chirlo
If you are happy to drive a little, try to book here. The setting is part of the experience and turns lunch into a small excursion of its own.
Two places still on our list to try
A Arca da Noe in Vilar de Santos stands out for its cultural and musical personality. Marmurio do Río in Allariz is somewhere we would consider for a more gastronomic meal or special occasion. We do not present them as personal favourites because we have not tried them yet.
Galician produce through the year
Meat, stews, octopus, seafood, Ribeira Sacra wine, chestnuts and seasonal produce mean the food offer changes with the calendar. That lets us adapt recommendations to the time of year and the kind of meal you actually want.
