Celanova deserves more than a quick stop
Casa Millo is designed to turn a few-hour visit into a two- or three-day stay. From the historic centre you can combine the monastery, local food, Castromao, Vilanova, Ourense, Allariz, thermal waters and the Xurés without changing base.
One house in the centre, a whole region around it
Staying in the historic centre makes the trip much easier. Walk to the monastery in the morning, eat in town at lunchtime and take the car for one short excursion in the afternoon. When you return, there is no new base to find and no luggage to move. That simplicity is part of what Casa Millo offers.
Why stay for two or three nights
Celanova can be visited in a few hours, but it makes far more sense at a slower pace. Staying in the historic centre lets you see the monastery in the morning, walk through town after day visitors have left and keep another day for Vilanova, Castromao, Allariz, Ourense or the Xurés. That mix of heritage, nature and food is exactly what Casa Millo is meant to make easy.
A practical base for southern Ourense
From Praza do Millo you can explore most of the centre on foot and save the car for short excursions. Vilanova dos Infantes and Castromao are very close; Allariz and Ourense fit easily into half a day; Aquis Querquennis and the Serra do Xurés can fill a day of archaeology and nature. You see more of the area without changing accommodation or packing again.
